Lauren Gilbert, MA, LCPC—
I earned my masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Towson University and am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. Additionally, I hold a Certificate in Advanced Trauma Treatment through the Institute for Advanced Psychotherapy Training and Education, Inc. I thoroughly enjoy and have experience building relationships with diverse individuals in multiple settings and addressing a range of presenting concerns. As a crisis intervention clinician for the past several years, I have assisted police and community members with multifaceted mental health problems and crises. I have also provided trauma-informed therapy to youth and families in the residential treatment setting and helped to develop a small, grant-based pilot program providing outpatient assessment and counseling to youth exposed to trauma. I have worked exclusively with adults in the outpatient setting as well. Through these experiences, I have come to see the value of the counseling relationship and the healing that can take place in the context of relationship. For a listing of clinical areas of focus in my practice, please see the Services page.
In addition to working with clients in private practice, I also welcome the opportunity to discuss presentation requests. I have presented on suicide awareness and prevention, trauma, self-care, youth development, and other mental health related topics to a range of audiences including schools, faith-based groups, law enforcement, and community groups. I am also a certified Mental Health First Aid instructor and an adjunct instructor at Towson University.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors and hiking. I also value my relationships with family and friends and appreciate spending quality time with them.
